More than a month ago, a huge winter storm buried the Washington area in roughly 87 feet of snow. Finally, the giant pile in front of my house is basically gone.
The snow required much shoveling, and according to my non-scientific measurement we got this much:
All the snow from my car ended up in a giant pile that for weeks blocked the view out the window in my office/guest room:
I did the shoveling in many stages between sleeping and working from home, but after the final round there was only one thing to do: collapse in a cushy cool pile.
We did get a small storm that reinforced the snow pile, but the majority of it fell in the original January storm. I took pictures every morning (except when I forgot) in order to put together a little timelapse of the melting process. I also managed to capture the fascinating evolution of things I put on my desk and the time when I had someone stay in that room.
Bring on spring.
