Longtime readers will recall that my friend AV and I crafted multiple plans for an entrepreneurial empire, only to be thwarted in our grand plan by an inconvenient lack of funding.
We have had to watch in agony as others bring our ideas into reality, most notably with Uber’s service delivering things like cough medicine for those times you are sick and want nothing more than to stay home. A few days ago, they took another step in that direction by offering flu shots:
I long ago accepted Uber’s move, especially since they took our idea a little further.
But there was a second recent development that tapped into our creative capital. Another of our ideas was to create places where people could go take a nap. Our prime market was people who work overnights and often find themselves in a situation where say you meet someone for dinner and then have an hour to kill before work and would love to spend that topping off the sleep tank.
Well, someone in D.C. is now offering a nap space:

Wow and in DC too!!! I knew this should be a thing!!!#missedopportunity Now you’ve got to go try it!!! ?? https://t.co/JNuKGgsXcg— Alex Villarreal (@AlexvWESH) October 6, 2016
#MISSEDOPPORTUNITY
Our idea was slightly different, offering people the option for naps longer than just 20 minutes. Our sleep spaces were also super private, concrete rooms that more effectively blocked all light in a way that people who sleep during the day crave.
I unfortunately do not have a transcript of our conversation from what I believe was late 2010, so many of the details escape me. But I reiterate my plea to people with absurd amounts of money they don’t mind losing to hand some over to the great business minds of our time.
